You may access the full events calendar for the area on the official Wausau/Central Wisconsin Visitors Bureau website, www.VisitWausau.com/events.php.
In the meantime, here are our some of our favorites.
Small Business Saturday
November 25: Shop local during Small Business Saturday. It's the best way to keep the holiday goodwill going during your visit to Wausau.
December 1: The annual Holiday Parade makes its way downtown at 7 p.m. There will be floats with twinkling lights, a tree lighting, the much-anticipated visit from Santa, even a warming party in Great Hall featuring the Wausau Symphonic Band.
January 27: The 6th annual Winter Fest serves up a full day of free activities for the whole family. Picture horse-drawn carriage rides, a snow slide, ice skating, and ice sculptures throughout the downtown.
Leinenkugel's Classic Adult Pond Hockey Tournament
January 27-28: The Wausau 525 Snowmobile Championship, a professional snowmobile racing event that draws drivers from the Midwest and Canada, supports local families with critically ill children and other charities.
Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum
December 2- February 25: The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum is such a treasure for this community. December 2 through February 25, see both the "Wild Fabrications" quilt exhibit and "Explorations in Wood" exhibit of wood-turned vessels and more sculptural forms.
